Leveraging Research to Enhance Peoples’ Lives through Digital Security

Today is an exciting day for Unisys. We are launching our 10th installment of the
Unisys Security Index™ – the only recurring snapshot of security concerns conducted globally. Since its inception in 2007, the Unisys Security Index has provided an ongoing, statistically-robust measure of concern about security in four major categories: national, financial, internet and personal security.

Security is at the forefront of everything Unisys does – not just with particular products or services, but rather that it is integrated into all of our solutions. Simply, it is the way Unisys thinks. Late last year, we announced an updated company tagline, Securing Your Tomorrow, which reinforces our commitment to security both internally and externally with our clients. Today’s launch of our new index results is the latest byproduct of this commitment. It also reinforces our company vision: to enhance peoples’ lives through digital security.

Whether you’re watching the news, reading an article or checking social media, you don’t need to look far for the topic of security to raise its head. And no type of security is exempt from the radar. From “Breaking News” updates on national security…to the headlines of cyber security attacks on our computers or mobile devices…to worrying about financial security and the safety and integrity of our bank accounts…to the real threat of identity theft, the topic is clearly on the minds of consumers around the world. In fact, our research shows that their security concerns are higher than ever before.

Our 2017 Unisys Security Index outcomes include global findings, as well as those that zero in on security views and concerns in each of the 13 countries in which we conducted the research around the world. While the globally-aggregated results point to identity theft and bankcard fraud as the two leading concerns, the results at each country level are unique and different.

For more in-depth information, please visit our Unisys microsite dedicated to the 2017 Unisys Security Index here. From this site, you can access global and country-level press releases and survey results, as well as learn from the perspectives of our many subject matter experts in all areas of security.

Unisys invites an open dialogue on the results and their implications, and I encourage you to look for new results on related topics from the 2017 Unisys Security Index in the coming weeks.
