Unisys issued an announcement today regarding its new Application Modernization Platform as a Service (AMPSSM) offering, a subscription-based service to help federal government agencies reduce the cost, complexity, risk, and time involved in modernizing their legacy software applications.

A recent study by MeriTalk and the Unisys Center for Innovation in Government found that four out of five C-level federal IT executives said mission-critical government capabilities are at risk if agencies do not modernize legacy applications.

The study, “Federal Application Modernization Road Trip: Express Lane or Detour Ahead?,” looked at the progress of the federal government in modernizing its business applications and the cost and risk of maintaining outdated and redundant systems.

A panel of Unisys executives convened to record a podcast that dives into the MeriTalk study findings and shares some actionable insights that will help federal IT leaders optimize their modernization efforts and their budgets using AMPS. Panelists included:

  • Mark Cohn, CTO of Unisys Federal Systems
  • Peter Gallagher, Unisys Federal Systems Partner
  • Edward Wakelam, Vice President of Application Modernization and Outsourcing Solutions
  • Andrew Gordon, Director of Application Modernization and SOA service line for Unisys Federal

You can listen to the panel discussion online below, or download it to your desktop or mp3 player.
