The Consumerization of IT

The consumerization of IT, enabled by cloud computing and virtualization, is having a dramatic impact on IT management imperatives. Emphasis on customer experience, accelerated innovation, and creation of efficiencies within IT operations is now at the top of the list for IT leaders.

The existing frameworks supporting these IT initiatives and projects are outdated, and no longer support the needs of the digital enterprise. Those frameworks are more ‘inside-out’ focused and too infrastructure-, process- and technology-centric to keep pace with the accelerated change taking place in the market. A new way of thinking has to emerge.
