Jim Thompson is the Engineering Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for TCIS, Unisys’ Technology Division. Jim is responsible for developing and driving the solutions and technology strategy for Unisys for best effect in the marketplace. He does this by leveraging and rationalizing technology investments in concert with the Unisys corporate strategy and by working collaboratively with the corporate CTO, Solutions and Portfolio Management, Engineering, Supply Chain and Worldwide Sales and Services. In addition, Jim leads the ClearPath Forward! team which is responsible for the architecture of Unisys’ future ClearPath Server products.
Jim’s career with Unisys spans 25 years in various customer facing and engineering roles. Jim also holds several technology patents in the areas of operating systems, storage and banking.
Prior to joining Unisys Jim held various technical positions in several financial institutions and commercial concerns as well as being an independent consultant.
