Venkatapathi Puvvada

I’m Venkatapathi Puvvada (PV) Vice President and Managing Partner for the Federal Horizontal Services Segment. I’m also member of the Federal Executive Council.

This involves everything that deals with strategy, solutions, portfolio development, engineering, operations, and service delivery of Unisys’s full portfolio across all market segments. In addition, I provide leadership for development and governance of all technical resources through Unisys World Class Architect (WCA) program.

With 20 years of experience in several business and IT disciplines, I’ve become what some call a recognized thought leader in business transformation, e-government, enterprise security, performance measurement, technology innovation, solution development methodologies, and enterprise architecture.

My team and I work with all major agencies including HHS, OMB, USDA, FDIC, FAA, TSA, DHS, DoD, and GSA in the development of strategy and the execution of mission programs.

During my career, I served in various leadership roles starting from technical management progressing to senior management ranks. Prior to my current position with Unisys, I was the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Unisys Federal Systems. Under this title I was responsible for CTO Office, Strategic Programs, research and development, and alliance partnerships.

I also worked as the lead partner and senior executive responsible for Unisys transformation consulting services and led its global service delivery teams for various client programs.

Until July 1, 2008, I served as the Chair of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC). I have been actively involved with various organizations including IAC, Object Management Group (OMG), ITAA, National Association of State CIOs, AFCEA, NDIA, and IIT Alumni association.

Furthermore, I worked with several nonprofit boards including TIE-DC (The Indus Entrepreneurs), Penn State University, National Defense University, and The President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee’s (NSTAC) Industry Executive Subcommittee.

I received the prestigious FED 100 Awards in 2003, 2005, and 2008 for my innovation and collaboration contributions to the government. I also won the IAC’s Industry Contributor of the Year in 2004.

Additionally, I am an author and I frequently speak at various conferences and forums. I hold a master’s in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, along with several other professional certifications.
