Eddie Wakelam

I’m Eddie Wakelam, Vice President Application Modernization and Outsourcing Solutions (AMOS) team at Unisys. I am responsible for driving AMOS business and the continuous development and enhancement of our offerings in this space, a client- and internal- facing worldwide role. Prior to this, as VP Application Services, I was responsible for Unisys Mortgages, Insurance, Communications and Media software product development and support teams.  Our Mortgage team achieved CMMI Level 5 external accreditation in 2008. 

I have over 35 years of experience in all aspects of applications development, systems integration, application modernization, application outsourcing and advisory services. I have worked in a wide variety of sectors, including Finance, Retail, Communications, Defence, Emergency Services, Government and Transport, and I have managed businesses and projects in multiple geographies.

Prior to this I spent 6 years with ICL/Fujitsu Services where I was responsible for the Application Services delivery business. During my time at ICL I managed the Retail business and for 2 years managed the Oracle practice, the largest Oracle practice in the UK outside of Oracle Corporation at the time.  Before that I was with Logica where I undertook a number of roles, spanning software development to project management, account management, divisional management, group management and subsidiary board director.

In contributing to Unisys strategy I maintain a close relationship with contemporary and innovative offerings and trends as well as the global analyst community.  My focus is upon the use and exploitation of IT to deliver measurable business benefit to the enterprise.

I have Bachelors’ degrees in Computer Science and in Mathematics.
